Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata Mascot Revealed!
We are thrilled to unveil a bold new symbol of our school's spirit, tradition, and mission. Please join us in welcoming our official mascot: The Chesterton Academy Crusaders!
Why the Crusader?
At Chesterton Academy, we strive to form joyful leaders and faithful servants who are unafraid to stand up for what is right, good, and beautiful. The image of the Crusader—a valiant figure armored in faith and purpose—perfectly captures the spirit of our students and community.
There are four mascot options for Chesterton Schools Network schools: the Griffins, the Knights, the Saints, or the Crusaders.
Our mascot choice embraces our shared mission: to engage the culture with truth, to defend what is sacred, and to pursue excellence in all we do. In the classroom, on the field, on the stage, and in our everyday lives, we are Crusaders for Christ.
A Historical Connection to Chesterton Himself
Our mascot choice is not only rooted in the values of the Chesterton Schools Network—it also connects directly to G.K. Chesterton himself. During his 1921 visit to Massachusetts, Chesterton was named an honorary Holy Cross Crusader by the College of the Holy Cross. It was a gesture of admiration for his intellectual bravery, wit, and passionate defense of the faith. In many ways, that moment prophetically ties Chesterton to the very identity we now claim for our school.
To call ourselves Crusaders is to walk in the footsteps of our namesake—not only as a thinker and writer but as a joyful warrior for truth.
